Wood, Marble - China - 20th century

A very fine and richly decorated Chinese plant table made of solid hardwood. This specimen is a wonderful example of craftsmanship, with hand-carved details and a classic design.

Features:
Woodcarving: The table is surrounded by refined openwork carving with floral motifs (blossoms). The corners of the legs are adorned with imposing dragon heads or mythical creatures, transitioning into elegant curved legs ending in ball-and-claw feet.
Top: The top surface features a beautifully inlaid panel of natural marble with a lively pink- and gray-toned pattern. The edge of the wooden top is finished with a classic bead edge.
Construction: Sturdy construction with a crossbar on the underside for extra stability. The wood has a deep reddish-brown color (likely cherry wood or a similar hardwood with a warm finish).
Condition:
In good, used condition. The woodwork shows a lovely patina. There are some minor signs of use and small shrinkage cracks in the wood, which is characteristic for antique wooden furniture of this age. The marble is intact without major cracks. (See photos for a full impression of the condition).
