1988 was an exceptional vintage. A mild, rainy winter was followed by a warm, dry spring. Flowering occurred early and rapidly during the hot month of June. Heavy rains in July, followed by hot, dry weather in August and September, created optimal conditions for ripening. The DP harvest began on September 26th.
