Description from the seller
PALESTINE. 5 Mils. 1946.
- Value: 5 Mils.
- Year: 1946.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: PALESTINE · פלשתינה (א״י) · فلسطين around a vegetal crown; date 1946 and ١٩٤٦ at the bottom. Reverse: 5 MILS · חמישה מיל · خمسة مِلّ arranged circularly around the central hole; perimetral pearling.
- Grading: UNC Detail – Cleaned (PCGS).
Coin of 5 Mils in a base alloy with the distinctive central hole, a hallmark of the issues from the British Mandate in Palestine. The design features a crown of stylized branches on the obverse and the face value in three languages —English, Hebrew and Arabic— reflecting the territory's complex administrative and cultural reality. The reliefs are well defined with little wear, preserving full details in the leaves and typography. A representative specimen of the latest issues preceding the end of the Mandate in 1948, during a period of intense political transformation in the region.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or within the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped by your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
