The Thinker Rodin, First Edition, made by Vintage Austin Productions 1961 in the U.S.A.
The Thinker (Le Penseur), created originally by the French artist Auguste Rodin.
The sculpture depicts a nude male figure seated on a rock in a posture of deep thought, with his right hand supporting his chin.
Rodin originally conceived the figure as part of his monumental work The Gates of Hell, where it represented the poet Dante.
The first monumental bronze casting was made in 1904, and numerous editions exist worldwide in various sizes.
It has become a widely recognized artwork and an iconic symbol of philosophy and contemplation.
Material: Cast stone, featuring a hand-finished bronze patina.
