AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This iconic eye-catcher, the Philips B2F70U tube radio, is a beautiful example of 1950s design and instantly brings that warm atmosphere of yesteryear into the home. The striking combination of a dark purple housing with the characteristic bright red tuning scale is a rare appearance that attracts attention in any modern or vintage interior. It fits perfectly on a bookshelf, sideboard, or bedside table.

The brightly lit tuning scale lists many station name references to its French origin such as "TUNIS, MARSEILLE, PARIS, BRUXELLES, LYON, LILLE, MAROC, TOULOUSE, ANGLETERRE". The radio has a rear connection for a 'Tourne Disque' (turntable). This radio was clearly aimed at the French market.

The radio has been completely cleaned and tested, and a few resistors, capacitors and the scale illumination have been replaced so that the radio can experience a second life. The cabinet has no cracks but does show some light signs of use.

The radio receives here at our location the well-known medium wave and long wave stations (Happy AM, BBC, Caroline, LPAM) very well. The many international stations on shortwave are also received well here. Optionally, an extra wire antenna can be added at the rear for shortwave by the user.

Valves/Tubes: UCH81 UF89 UBC81 UL84 UY42.
Reception: Long wave, Medium wave, Short wave.
Extras: turntable connection.
Dimensions: 312 x 177 x 139 mm / 12.3 x 7 x 5.5 inches.
