Fali Doll of Cameroon,

In Cameroon, when a young Fali man gets engaged, he makes a wooden doll (ham pilu) and decorates it with hair, beads, and small objects. He then gives it to his fiancée, who wears it in a back carrier. The doll is the symbol of their marriage obligation and represents their future child.
