Large wrought iron wall sconce with five arms, 64 cm high, 30 cm wide and 16 cm deep, in Baroque style (Estilo barroco), dating to the 1960s, made in Spain, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
This great forged iron wall sconce, rising to 64 cm in height, has that stout, almost sculptural presence that only pieces handmade in traditional workshops offer. The structure is organized around a firm vertical axis, from which curved arms extend with a fluid, almost vegetal movement, as if the iron had been persuaded —rather than forced— to adopt organic shapes.
The five candle holders rise at different levels, creating a balanced and rhythmic silhouette. Each dish and each finial shows small irregularities that reveal the blacksmith’s craft: hammer blows, slightly asymmetric lines, a finish that preserves the texture of fire and anvil. That dark, aged patina lends a noble, almost monastic air, evoking old interiors, stone walls, and flickering light.
The legs, opened into three curved supports, provide stability and at the same time complete the impression of a living piece, with a design that blends solidity and grace. It is a wall sconce that not only illuminates: it imposes character, fills the space, and functions as a fragment of domestic architecture.
Tracked shipping and careful packaging.
