Description from the seller
Very impressive and historically accurate scale model of the Daimler motorcycle from 1885, executed at 1:8 scale and manufactured by Franklin Mint. This model is a lifelike reproduction of the very first motorized two-wheeler ever built by Daimler, generally regarded as the founder of the modern motorcycle.
The model is exceptionally detailed and built from real wood, combined with metal and brass-colored mechanical components. The open construction wonderfully showcases the early engine concept with visible drive, gears, cylinders, and fuel system. The saddle is leather-look with a quilted diamond pattern, fully in keeping with the original 19th-century design.
Due to the large scale (1:8), every detail is especially well displayed. This is not an ordinary scale model, but a museum-worthy collectible that is very interesting both technically and historically.
The model is in very good condition, with no breakage or missing parts. It comes from a private collection and has always been stored carefully. Ideal as a centerpiece in a collection, in the office, showroom, or study.
