Old Russian Samovar – Egor Batashev Factory, Tula (late 19th / early 20th century)
Magnificent yellow brass samovar, made at the renowned Egor Batashev factory in Tula, the Russian capital of samovars. An authentic piece from the Russian imperial period, with multiple kleyam (original seals) visible, including the factory name “ФАБРИКА ЕГОРА БАТАШЕВА,” imperial eagles and prize medals won at industrial exhibitions of the era.
Features:
Classic bulbous body in a vase shape, with side handles, original lid and wooden handles;
Ornate spigot and base with feet;
Traditional coal-fired system (with central tube for the fuel);
Excellent condition, with natural patina that enhances the piece.
This samovar belongs to one of the most prestigious dynasties of Russian manufacturers in the 19th century. The Batashevs were known for superior quality and the numerous awards they received, making their pieces highly collectible.
A unique piece, ideal for collectors of Russian antiques, interior decoration, or as a charming element in classic interiors. It can be used functionally or as a striking decorative piece.
