Mexico - 2 Pesos 1945 – 0.900 Fine Gold. 1.66 Grams
This 1945 Mexican Dos Pesos gold coin is a classic piece of North American numismatic history, often sought after for both its intrinsic gold value and its iconic design.
A nice example of the Mexican Dos Pesos gold coin, dated 1945. Struck by the historic Mexican Mint (Casa de Moneda de México), the oldest mint in the Americas, this fractional gold piece is renowned for its durability and high gold purity.
The coin features:
    • Obverse: The national emblem of Mexico, depicting an eagle perched on a cactus devouring a serpent, surrounded by the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS".
    • Reverse: The denomination "DOS PESOS" centered within a laurel wreath, with the year "1945" and the "Mo" mint mark.
This specific year is particularly notable as many were struck as official restrikes between 1951 and 2009, maintaining the 1945 date to serve the international bullion market.
