Description from the seller

Opera Glasse 19th/20th century.
The binocular barrels are embellished with delicate gilt detailing and framed portraits, while the handle features a charming hand-painted cherub (putto), enhancing the refined and romantic aesthetic typical of French decorative arts around the turn of the 20th century.

Crafted in gilt metal with eyepieces in bone or bone-like material, these opera glasses reflect the taste for luxury accessories used in theatres and opera houses during the Belle Époque period.

Circa: late 19th – early 20th century (around 1900)

Condition: in good overall antique condition, with minor wear to the enamel and metal consistent with age and use. No major damage observed. Optics not tested. Please refer carefully to the photographs for a complete impression.
