An impressive and graceful tabletop coffee grinder with an exceptionally decorative open-work cast-iron mechanism — a stylish whole of delicately formed cast-iron supports, a spherical hopper with a hinged lid and a rectangular lever with a wooden handle.

The striking cast-iron frame with its elegant cutouts and finished details strongly recalls the ornamental blacksmithing of the late 19th century — while in reality it is a high-quality production from the 1970s. A successful and imposing nostalgic nod to the classic coffee grinders from the belle époque.

The body consists of a turned wooden hourglass-shaped middle piece on a square base with a small drawer with a wooden knob at the bottom. The combination of ornamental black cast iron and warm brown wood gives this grinder a stately and timeless character.
Condition: good vintage condition with signs of use appropriate for its age. Mechanism present and complete.

The combination of leather, wood and cast iron makes this an exceptionally decorative and rare object — worldwide only a few examples with leather upholstery are known.
