An exceptionally rare and complete antique film projector from the world-renowned French film pioneer company Pathé Frères, recognizable by the original copper nameplate with the iconic Pathé rooster on the projector body.
The projector is made of black lacquered metal with brass details and consists of a film transport mechanism with reel holder at the top, a projector body with a brass lens, a large reflector disk, various control knobs and a perforated cylindrical electric motor from the brand A.D.B. (410 Ohm, YO 50) on the footplate. The whole rests on a solid perforated footplate with rubber feet.
Pathé Frères, founded in 1896 in Paris, was one of the most influential pioneers of the early film history. The projectors from this period are rare and historically highly valuable objects that represent the birth of the cinema industry.
Condition: good vintage condition with authentic signs of use and patina appropriate to the great age. Complete and original with all parts present.
