AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

The item up for auction is a majestic two-piece pedestal epergne (gardener) on a column base, originating from the famous Czech manufactory Bernhard Bloch (Eichwald). Products from this workshop, dating from the turn of the century, are valued by collectors for their exceptional glaze quality and rich ornamentation.

Material: Majolica (glazed ceramic).

Color: Deep bottle-green with hand-painted details in pink and subtle umber.

Ornamentation: Relievo garlands of roses, geometric handles in a meander style, and classical column fluting.

Signature: On the bottom there is a visible molded impression with the name "Eichwald" and the model number 4301.

The item is preserved in very good visual condition. The glaze retains its original shine and depth of color.

Notes: At the fastening screw (inside the Pedestal) there are minimal, surface micro-cracks. These are natural changes resulting from material stresses at the metal pin, typical for century-old ceramics of this construction. They do not affect the stability or aesthetics of the piece when displayed.
