Herend - Rare 150th Anniversary Ginger Jar / Bonbonnière - "Queen Victoria" Pattern (VBO) - Hand-Painted Porcelain

Offered is a stunning, large-sized lidded ginger jar (bonbonnière) from the world-renowned Herend Manufactory (Hungary). This piece is decorated in the prestigious Queen Victoria (VBO) pattern, arguably the most famous and historically significant design in Herend’s history.
The pattern features vibrant, hand-painted butterflies and flowering peonies, a design that famously enchanted Queen Victoria at the 1851 Great Exhibition in London, leading her to commission a full service for Windsor Castle.

This specific piece is highly collectible as it bears the 150th Anniversary Commemorative Mark (1826–1976) on the base. Anniversary-marked items were produced in limited quantities and represent a specific era of Herend’s master craftsmanship.
Design Features:
Rose Finial: The lid is topped with a signature, hand-formed porcelain rose, delicately painted in pink gradients, the colour is slightly worn off. See image!
