Beautiful antique terrestrial telescope made of brass patina and refined polished wood, expression of the refined scientific instrumentation of the 19th century. Main solid wood tube, finely turned and finished with a high-gloss baked-on lacquer that preserves a beautiful original patina. The brass metal parts (objective, extendable sections and rings) show natural oxidation consistent with age. Very light surface scratches on the wooden part, which do not compromise its aesthetics or collectible value. The telescope is extendable thanks to brass sliding sections. An original side knob is also present, used for focusing. Likely of English manufacture. Maximum extended length 80.5 cm, minimum 77 cm.
