About Svnder:
After completing academic studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Palermo, Svnder has dedicated himself to painting with a focus on realism and hyperrealism. His work draws on classical techniques, but is guided by a contemporary sensibility that gives poetic depth to every subject. His works explore the emotional weight of silence, stillness, and identity through precise and meticulous execution.
After his academic training he traveled across Europe and the rest of the world, immersing himself in different cultures and artistic traditions to further refine his technique and expand his creative vision. This ongoing journey continually enriches his visual language and intensifies its expressive power.
Inspired by the timeless language of the great masters – including Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Vermeer – his gaze fuses tradition and modernity in a continuous dialogue between memory, body and symbol.
The subjects of his works range from religious scenes and sacred figures reinterpreted in a contemporary key, to portraits with strong emotional impact, through mythological creatures, fallen angels, saints, martyrs and allegorical figures. References to classical antiquity, Christian symbolism, Greek myth, and pop culture filtered with irony are not lacking. Each composition is built as an image suspended in time, where light and darkness, body and spirit, sacred and profane coexist in a dramatic and profoundly human balance.
“For me, art is a moment of suspension — a space in which time stops and emotions take shape without the need for words.”
His works have been exhibited internationally and are part of private collections across Europe and the rest of the world.
