A palm wine cup from the Lele / Kuba in the D.R. Congo. The cup bears the typical Lele coiffure on the back of the head, but also the characteristic geometric carved shapes of the Kuba.

The cup is carved from a single piece. The bottom is hollow. The cup is complete but shows wear and tear, appropriate for its age. See the photos.

This cup was used to drink palm wine among the dignitaries within the tribe.

Een palmwijn beker van de Lele / Kuba uit D.R. Congo. De beker heeft de typische Lele haardracht op het achterhoofd maar ook de typische geometrische gesneden vormen van de Kuba.

De beker is uit één stuk gesneden. De onderkant is hol. De beker is compleet maar heeft 'wear and tear', passende bij de leeftijd van de beker. Zie de foto's.

Deze beker werd gebruikt om palmwijn te drinken tussen hoogwaardigheidsbekleders binnen de stam.
