Important mantel clock case with a neoclassical female bust, dating to the early 1910s, made of bronze and patinated spelter, two-tone bronze brown and antique green finish, generally good condition for age, without clock mechanism or dial, dimensions 53 x 34 x 14 cm.
Description from the seller
Important table clock case (mantel clock) with a Neoclassical-style female bust, datable to the early years of the 20th century.
The piece depicts an elegant bust of a young woman with delicate features and a thoughtful expression, with an updo hairstyle that is richly worked. The décolleté is adorned with finely carved floral motifs that confer harmony and refinement to the overall composition.
The structure rests on an architectural base with a striking stage presence, decorated with volutes, floral elements and raised gold details, typical of the eclectic taste between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
ATTENTION!! The central part features a circular opening intended to house the clock dial and mechanism, currently not present.
Material presumably composite (plaster/Spelter or patinated bronze), with polychrome finish in tones of brown bronze and antique green, enriched with gold detailing.
Dimensions: height 53 cm, width 34 cm, depth 14 cm.
Condition: good overall considering age. Signs of wear, slight abrasions and patina consistent with age. Note the absence of the mechanism and the dial.
A highly decorative object, ideal both as a classical furnishing element and as a base for the restoration project of a mantel clock.
