Liesegang Janus Epidiascope - Magic lantern

Antique magic lantern (Janus Liesegang), late 19th century, made of metal with front lens, upper mirror, and perforated housing. Equipped with the original plate depicting “Janus Liesegang”, originating from a well-known German manufacturer of optical projectors. Such projectors were widely used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to display images during storytelling performances that preceded the cinema. Classic model on four legs, with electrical connection. All as visible in the photos. Not tested
