All automatic watches must be wound at first use; the movement winding is not sustained by the wrist alone.

RULE FOR ALL WATCHES WITH A DATE
To avoid possible damage to the movement, please do not set the date with the crown when the time is between 21:00 and 03:00. It is advisable to set the date when the time is between 03:05 and 20:55. (Some models have a screw-down crown; for settings, gently unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Remember to securely screw the crown back after adjusting.)
