Elegant slender marble column in Verde Alpino marble from Italy, circa 1850–1900, measuring 112 cm high with a 28 cm square base and 28 cm width, weighing 47 kg.
Description from the seller
This elegant slender decorative column made of precious green marble, characterized by a rich pattern of natural white veins that run across the entire surface.
The structure draws inspiration from the classical architectural order, composed of a smooth cylindrical shaft resting on a square-plan base with molding. The upper capital features a simple circular design, ideal for supporting busts, sculptures, or ornamental vases, imparting a sense of solemnity and refinement to any interior environment.
The column has a design different from the classics; it features a very tight-fit plate and base aligned with the molding, ready to accommodate a single pot or a statuette.
The item is presented in good conservation condition, with the natural luster of the stone well preserved. The shaft is fixed to the base and to the plane, and on the base the shaft shows a slight play that does not compromise stability and remains fixed to it.
For its slender dimensions and the quality of the material, it represents a prestige furniture element, capable of enhancing representative corners or private galleries.
Dimensions: H 100 cm; base and plate 12 x 12 cm.
Weight: 12 kg
