Description from the seller
They are nest-of-tables that fully embody the Napoléon III taste: that balance between sinuous elegance and the almost theatrical refinement that characterizes French furniture from the second half of the 19th century. The marquetry, with its geometric, well-assembled pattern, provides a warm rhythm to the surfaces, while the dark inlays and the edge highlighted by gilded bronze introduce that contrast so typical of the style, where wood communicates with metal to underscore the line and contour.
The legs, slender and slightly curved, terminate in small bronze elements that act almost as functional jewelry, reinforcing the sense of lightness and sophistication. The ensemble preserves the typical harmony of nesting tables of the era: balanced proportions, a visual play between the three heights, and a discreet yet distinguished presence.
On the sides there are some traces of time, small signs of use that do not break the overall aesthetics but add that authentic patina that recalls the long life of the furniture. Far from detracting, they contribute to the historical reading of the piece, as if each mark were a small echo of its journey over more than a century.
