Description from the seller
On offer: The absolute centerpiece from Technics' 1979 catalog, the SU-8099. This is a rare chance to secure one of the most coveted integrated amplifiers from Technics' 'Silver Era'. The SU-8099 was the flagship and is renowned for its uncompromising build quality and immense power.
Technical Mastery:
The SU-8099 is a "Direct Coupled" (DC) amplifier, meaning there are no capacitors in the signal path of the output stage, resulting in an extremely pure and uncolored sound reproduction. With a power of 120 Watts per channel at 8 Ohms and a massive toroidal transformer, this amplifier is capable of driving even the most challenging speakers with ease.
The phono section is of exceptional class, with a dedicated preamplifier for both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges, making this unit a favorite among vinyl enthusiasts.
Condition and Maintenance:
• Visual condition: In very neat condition with minimal signs of use on the top
• Technical condition: Fully tested and working.
Relay contacts have been polished and various connectors and switches have been cleaned.
Technical Specifications:
• Power: 120 watts per channel at 8Ω (stereo)
• Frequency response: 1 Hz to 200 kHz (+0dB, -3dB)
• Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): 0.005%
• Damping factor: 100
• Inputs: Phono (MM/MC), Tuner, Aux, Tape 1 & 2
• Dimensions: 450 x 142 x 420 mm
• Weight: approx. 20 kg
Warranty:
The audio equipment we offer is largely vintage equipment 40 years old or older. Each unit is carefully inspected by us, professionally cleaned, and extensively tested before being offered for sale.
Despite this meticulous inspection, it may happen that a defect occurs upon receipt or after some time. Due to the age of the equipment, such malfunctions can arise unexpectedly and are beyond our control.
For this reason, we cannot provide a warranty on vintage equipment. We understand this can be inconvenient and we believe it is important to be transparent and honest about it. Of course, we do our utmost to deliver each unit in the best possible condition.
We package our products very carefully so that the risk of transport damage is minimized. We also arrange transport insurance for every shipment.
