FIGIR - Toy soldier - Italy

9 Swiss Guards of the Vatican City produced by FIGIR of Rome from the 1930s to the 1960s in composite material. These toy soldiers were sold not only in toy shops but also as souvenirs for tourists. FIGIR still exists under the surname of the owning family Antonini and produces lead soldiers for collectors.
The Swiss Guards all come from the same Swiss canton where young men undergo a screening process and submit an enrollment application. As is known, legend has it that the guards' uniform was designed by Michelangelo in the 1500s at the time of the corps' creation.
ATTENTION: one guard is missing part of the halberd.
