Description from the seller
This vintage bike has been fully cleaned up and made ready to ride.
New brake pads, new brake cables, new front tire, and new handlebar tape.
Includes 2 bottle cage mounts.
The front tire in black/yellow is original and I left it on; the rear tire was replaced.
The visible rust is not penetrative and is part of the vintage look.
The measurements can be seen in the photos.
Vintage Peugeot Competition 400 (also known as model code CP403E) was specifically produced in the early 1990s, with 1993 and 1994 as the most prominent catalog years.
Although the Peugeot "Competition" line has a longer history, the "400" model belongs to the series Peugeot began introducing in the early 1990s as part of their renewed sport assortment.
The colors are black-yellow-red, which makes it especially interesting for Belgian buyers!
It is a sought-after model among enthusiasts of vintage road bikes because of the reliable French engineering and the distinctive design.
The color scheme is typical for this series: black with red accents on the front fork and rear stays.
Groupset: This model is equipped with Shimano RX100 drivetrain and brakes.
Front: two chainrings 52-42 and the cassette (7 speeds) 13-28 ratio.
Wheels: Mavic rims.
Explanation Reynolds 525 (3 Tubes):
Reynolds is a legendary manufacturer of steel tubes.
525 stands for a type of chromium-molybdenum steel (CrMo) known for its strength and the fact that the frame is relatively light, yet comfortably absorbs road vibrations.
3 Tubes means that the three main tubes of the frame (seat tube, top tube, and down tube) are made from this high-quality Reynolds steel. The rest of the rear triangle is often made from a slightly simpler steel to save costs.
