We present an elegant Turkish hallway rug “Silk of Istanbul” (1960-1970), an exceptional piece woven entirely by hand with silk-on-silk of the highest quality.
This rug stands out for its extreme fineness, softness and natural sheen, characteristics typical of Istanbul’s finest productions. Its weave is very dense and compact, offering a silky touch and a very precise definition of the pattern.
It has a density of approximately 640,000 knots per square meter (8x8 knots/cm²), placing it among the fine, high-quality carpets.
Dimensions are 255 x 76 cm, hallway format ideal for narrow areas or through-ways.
The overall condition is very good, with no breaks or structural defects. Only a light cleaning is recommended to enhance the colors and restore its original splendor.
A refined piece, perfect for decorative use as well as for silk rug collectors.
