Antique cigarette case / silver cigarette case – Spain, mid-19th century
Elegant and uncommon cylindrical silver cigarette case, a piece of refined simplicity and great collector appeal. Its streamlined design features a classic tubular form with engraving by means of geometric ornamental bands and repetitive motifs, creating a sober and balanced ensemble typical of traditional Spanish silversmithing.
The piece stands out for its compact, functional format, designed to protect and carry a cigarette in an elegant way. The finish combines polished flat surfaces with finely worked perimeter decoration, reflecting an aesthetic characteristic of personal items used by the distinguished.
Based on the visible maker's marks and manufacturing characteristics, it is preliminarily attributed to Spanish production, possibly from the mid-19th century.
