Austria, Deutschösterreich 1920/1921 mint hinged stamps issued 1920–1921.
Description from the seller
Austrian Republic (Deutschösterreich) stamps from 1920–1921. During this period, due to rampant inflation, new colors were introduced for existing denominations and entirely new, higher values.
Here is a detailed description and condition assessment:
Description of the sections
Top section (1920: Color Change and New Values): Color changes and new values. You will find denominations including 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, and 60 heller. An interesting note is the 30 heller in brown (instead of the earlier violet).
Middle section (1920: K.Z. 12 1/2): The standard perforated series, containing denominations from 5 heller to 1 crown. Among them, stamps with the postal horn (15 and 60 heller) and allegorical figures stand out.
Copper-engraved section (Kupferdruck): Four large, horizontal stamps with a view of the Parliament in Vienna. These are high denominations: 2, 5, 7 1/2, and a very high for the time denomination of 50 crowns (in a gray-violet color).
Bottom section (1920/21: Weißes Papier): Issues on white paper, covering denominations 80 heller and 1, 1 1/2, 2 and 2 1/2 crowns.
Condition
Visual: The stamps look very well preserved. Colors are fresh and saturated; no signs of sun fading.
Perforation: Complete and regular on most copies.
Storage method: The stamps are mounted in hawid pockets (protective sleeves). Some of them are slightly misaligned, suggesting they are not permanently affixed, which is very favorable.
Cancellation: Most (if not all) appear to be in pristine, uncirculated condition. No obvious postage cancellations.
Collectible value
This is a typical philatelic set from the inflation period. The most interesting item on this page is the high denomination 50 crowns from the Parliament series.
