The “Exceptional Eaux-de-Vie” range represents the very best of the Nusbaumer distillery’s expertise. These are presented in an amber-tinted bottle that protects them from light. The hand-applied wax seal, shaped as a medallion and boasting a deep, intense colour, is crafted in their workshops. Poire Williams Exception is one of the distillery’s prestigious references thanks to its unique production method and the variety of fruits used—red-skinned pears, smaller yet very juicy and fragrant. This gives the eau-de-vie a concentrated bouquet with a powerful nose and a smooth, rounded palate.
The Williams pears are macerated in Poire Williams eau-de-vie (classic and Sélection) for three weeks. After distillation, this exceptional product is reduced to the desired alcohol level using the pure spring water of Steige, naturally filtered through the Vosges schist. The process is perfected with cold filtration.
Alcohol content: 43% vol.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Highly aromatic, reminiscent of ripe fruit. One can easily imagine the grainy texture characteristic of the pear.
Palate: Very smooth and rounded. The bouquet is intense, soft, and indulgent.
Finish: The juicy, grainy texture of the fruit lingers on the palate.
This eau-de-vie is best enjoyed neat as a digestif. It can be stored for around ten years. Once opened, it is recommended to consume within five years. Store in a dry place, protected from light.
