Description from the seller
Pair of Grundig Passive Speakers “Lautsprecher-Kombination” LS 42
A rarity among passive acoustic speakers
They were used in the era's recording studios
Full compatibility for connections to musical equipment with modern 4-ohm amplifiers
Model: LS 42
Power: 15 watts per speaker
Nominal impedance: 5 Ω; 40-20000 Hz, 5 Ω
Dimensions: H 65 x W 35 x D 30 cm
Manufacture: Germany, late 1960s
3-way system with full-range crossover, in good condition and tested.
Total of 6 drivers: 2 x 10-inch woofers - 2 x midrange and 2 x tweeters. Nominal load capacity with continuous power 15 W per speaker.
Music Power: For these models, music power is usually estimated between 30 and 50 watts.
These speakers are considered a small “jewel” by vintage enthusiasts because they have a very light paper cone and suspensions that do not rot like those in “modern foam.”
The secret is not so much power, but sensitivity. In the 1970s, these speakers were designed to deliver high sound pressure with very little energy.
Very powerful and full sound, also particularly ideal for analog frequencies.
Note that the “red crown” around the magnet is typical of Grundig high-quality transducers from that period. They were famous for having magnets that are very powerful relative to their size.
The pallet will be shipped with protection
Free pickup is also possible in the Alessandria-Piemonte area, Italy
