RARE CUP WITH INDUS VALLEY DECOR
Very old ceramic with decoration from the Indus Valley.
Cylindrical cup resting on a small circular base.
The cup is ornamented with a decoration of circular lines, framing a frieze of undulating waves and hatched vertical bands.
Anatolia, ancient Pakistan Indus Culture Baluchistan - Nindowari
Dating: 2500–2000 BC.
Dimensions: Diameter 12.1 cm - Height 8.4 cm
Good condition - the decoration is original
Provenance: United Kingdom, T.M.L.
Previous provenance history: collection acquired on the British art market before 2000, an important estate in Cambridgeshire, then by descent.
