Description
Real art for Real collectors.
“Deva and Dog” is a contemporary figurative work where the human body is treated as a fragile, symbolic form rather than a descriptive figure. The standing nude is elongated and slightly destabilized, shifting the image away from realism toward a psychological and archetypal reading.
The presence of the dog introduces a counterpoint of grounded reality, creating a quiet dialogue between instinct and vulnerability. This pairing subtly evokes themes of protection, trust and primordial connection without becoming narrative.
The composition is reduced and controlled. A limited palette of pale flesh tones set against a textured blue ground produces a luminous contrast, where color operates as emotional field. The dark mass above the figure acts as a visual weight, compressing the space and intensifying the inward tension of the pose.
The surface is built through layered oil and mixed media, with softened contours and visible traces of process. This controlled erosion of form allows the figure to oscillate between appearance and disappearance.
The work functions not as depiction but as a perceptual structure. It situates itself within contemporary figurative painting while retaining echoes of classical restraint, offering a quiet but persistent visual presence that unfolds over time.

I would remind myself about collectors...
A work is not owned, it is carried.
It enters your space, but also your perception.
Not everything valuable reveals itself immediately.
Some works stay silent… until they begin to act.
Buy what you cannot fully explain.
That is where it starts.
