Teapot - Brass, Copper - 1886-dated teapot

A particularly charming and authentic dated goose-head pewter kettle from 1886, made of yellow brass and clearly handmade with copper rivets. The year 1886 is beautifully struck into the carrying handle, making this kettle not only a utilitarian object but also a tangible historical document.

The kettle has the classic pear- or globe-shaped form, a shape that was widely used in the 19th century for water and tea kettles because this form distributed heat efficiently. The long, elegantly curved spout and the tall carrying handle enable the kettle to be used over an open fire or stove.
