Silver commemorative coin minted by Australia to celebrate the opening of Parliament in Canberra in 1927. The obverse features the crowned portrait of George V looking to the left, with the full imperial legend. The reverse shows an elaborate composition with the Parliament Building framed in an ornate cartouche, accompanied by the denomination ONE FLORIN and the date highlighted in a central oval. A piece of high artistic quality and strong historical symbolism, with well-defined relief, an attractive silver tone and smooth patina, considered one of the most emblematic commemorative issues of Australian coinage in the 20th century.
