Description from the seller

Chandelier made of brass/bronze gilded with matte shades and star- and flower-patterns, 1910s.
A beautiful, classic chandelier. It combines features of the late Victorian era, the Arts and Crafts movement, or the early transitional style Art Deco/ Jugendstil, which were widespread in Europe (especially France, Belgium, Germany and England) and the United States. It is richly decorated with flowing shades, grapevine motifs, floral elements (central rosette) and ornate moldings – typical for high-end luminaires from the turn of the century up to the 1920s. Matte glass shades: opal- or matte glass domes with etched or carved patterns. The shades are not transparent, but milky-opal with an embossed pattern (dots/drops + predominantly star/diamond pattern).
Country of origin and period: Most likely France, 1910–1920.
Refined elegance – A luxurious chandelier
Materials: brass, matte glass dome, matte glass shades
Age of the chandelier: Estimated around 1910
Number of shades: 3
Light source: 4 standard E27 sockets (not included)
Diameter over the glass shades: approx. 80 cm
Diameter of the glass dome: approx. 25 cm
Total weight: approx. 5 kg
Height of the chandelier with ceiling rosette: approx. 57 cm
Condition: The chandelier is in very good condition. Function test performed. The glass dome and all other shades are intact, with a few small flea bites at the edges in the non-visible area on the inner edge of the dome.
Special features: A rare specimen in this style. A beautiful chandelier. Very decorative.
