Description from the seller

CHAMPION ROAD BIKE “PREMIUM COLLECTION” (1967) – APPROX. 10.5 KG

A rare piece of European cycling heritage

We are honored to present at auction this magnificent Champion racing bicycle, model “Premium Collection” from 1967. A true testament to the artisanal golden age of cycling, this bike is a collectible piece of rare elegance, aimed at vintage-mechanics enthusiasts and collectors of prestige bicycles.

History and legacy

The Champion brand, often associated with the excellence of handmade frames of the era, stands out here for the exceptionally fine steel tube set work. This 1967 model embodies the technological transition of the mid-1960s, marrying the robustness of large-sized frames with a selection of first-rate European components. Wearing its original green livery with Italian-style fittings, this bike exudes an authentic patina and aristocratic allure.

Prestigious technical specifications

This bicycle has been carefully preserved, tested, and overhauled with respect for its authenticity. It presents a high-end Franco-Italian mixed configuration:

frame: high-quality steel, height 65 cm (center-to-top), ideal for tall riders (recommended for 194 cm and up).

drivetrain: Campagnolo Gran Sport group (2x5 speeds), an icon of reliability and precision of the era.

braking: Mafac Dural Forge calipers, the standard of excellence for powerful and progressive braking in the 1960s.

crankset and chainrings: prestigious Stronglight / Simplex alliance, offering a sculptural aesthetic and great lightness.

saddle: Brooks Champion B17 leather saddle, already well bedded-in, providing legendary comfort and undeniable visual cachet.

cockpit: Ambrosio Brevettato Adjustable headset, a rare engineering piece allowing precise position adjustment.

wheels: A.V.A rims mounted on Normandy hubs, guaranteeing optimal rolling smoothness.

Condition status

The bike is in “good” condition, having undergone a full revision. The paint shows natural patina that certifies its origin and history, without compromising the steel’s structural integrity. Consumables have been checked to ensure the bike is ready to ride or display immediately.

Included extras: period bottle cage and dirt scraper (tire-cleaning tool), accessories typical of the great long-distance rides and races of the era.

Delivery information

Shipping fees are set at an estimate of €300. We want to note that this is a high estimate to guarantee professional and secure packaging. If the actual shipping cost (including insurance and packing materials) turns out to be lower than the amount paid, we commit to refund the difference to the customer after the sale.

Don’t miss this opportunity to own a 1967 cycling icon, a machine that blends historic performance with timeless design.
