Description from the seller
Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 48 x 56 cm
Description
A work of marked contemporary character that explores the presence of the horse from an approach that is almost sculptural. The composition, closed and direct, eliminates all superfluous elements to focus on form, volume and the internal tension of the animal’s body.
The dark background acts as a neutral, deep space from which the figure emerges, reinforcing its visual impact. The light, carefully directed, traverses the anatomy, generating contrasts and reflections that accentuate the musculature and provide a tactile quality to the painted surface.
Beyond the portrait, the piece places itself in the realm of study: an investigation into matter, contained energy and the relationship between light and form. The result is a sober, elegant and timeless image, with a strong presence in any space.
A work that connects with collectors who value synthesis, visual strength and a refined pictorial language within contemporary figurative art.
Alejandro Carballosa, Cuban visual artist and designer residing in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Built in visual arts and design, he integrates the aesthetic sensibility of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been presented in both collective and solo exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States
