10 Øre silver coin with a mature portrait of Christian IX looking to the left, of sober and naturalistic style, highlighting the detailed treatment of the hair and the monarch's characteristic beard. The reverse presents the face value in broad, balanced typography, surrounded by an elegant border of repetitive vegetal motifs with clear inspiration from historic Scandinavian design. The reliefs are sharp and complete, with excellent preservation of fine details and very attractive original satin sheen. The fields are clean and homogeneous, with minimal presence of marks for the high grade MS65, making it a notably high-quality specimen within the later issues associated with the long reign of Christian IX.
