After a successful career in advertising, Willie Manders (born 1944) continued as a freelance artist. At first mainly landscapes, especially in the South of France, and portraits. In the context of a Rembrandt exhibition, a portrait he created was exhibited for quite some time. When he began focusing on still lifes, he took to it with pleasure.
