Description from the seller
EGYPT. 10 Piastre. 1376 (1957)
- Value: 10 Piastre.
- Year: 1376 (1957).
- Inscriptions: Obverse: bust of the Sphinx facing right with dates in Arabic “١٣٧٦-١٩٥٧”. Reverse: denomination “١٠ قروش” within outstretched wings with an inscription in Arabic at the top.
- Grading: MS63 (NGC).
10 Piastre silver coin with a representative design of the Republic of Egypt, featuring on the obverse the stylized image of the Sphinx, rendered with soft lines and simplified volumes that evoke solidity and historical heritage. The reverse presents a symbolic composition with open wings framing the denomination, adding dynamism and a sense of national identity. The specimen shows high-grade preservation, with traces of original luster visible though partially covered by an irregular dark patina, especially in the fields, along with light contact marks. This issue corresponds to the period after the 1952 revolution, reflecting the transition to a modern state and the assertion of its own national symbols.
