Description from the seller
Important gilded bronze votive crown, 19th century - Europe
Large crown for procession or statue, in finely chiseled and gilded bronze, richly adorned with colored stones and cut crystals, of high quality, probably from Central Europe or the south (Italy / Austria).
The structure consists of eight pointed arches, decorated with relief foliate scrolls, gathered at a summital globule surmounted by a trilobed cross set with a blue cabochon. The decoration is particularly meticulous, alternating emerald green, ruby red and pink oval stones, accompanied by small faceted white crystals evoking old-cut diamonds (paste glass or crystal, not tested).
The lower bandeau is also openwork, adorned with floral motifs and set with polychrome stones, giving the whole piece a strong liturgical and ceremonial character. The old gilding is uniform, with a beautiful patina.
Religious goldsmith work of high quality, intended for a crowned Virgin or saint statue, or for processional use.
Dimensions: Height: 28 cm x Inner diameter (head circumference): 11.5 cm
Condition:
Very good overall condition. Some minor gilding wear, slight irregularities in the settings visible under magnification, with no major losses. Stable structure.
Photos are an integral part of the object description and complement its presentation. They allow you to appreciate its condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any commitment.
The item will be carefully boxed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure fast and secure delivery.
Happy bidding
