Description from the seller
ZELDZAAM!
Set of two marble bowls – Fratelli Mannelli, Italy
Offered is a stylish set of two handmade marble bowls from the renowned Italian studio Fratelli Mannelli, known for its high-quality natural stone objects and timeless design. The bowls combine artisanal craftsmanship with a robust, natural look and form a bijzonder object both decoratively and functionally.
Material and construction
Both bowls are made from solid natural stone (marble/travertine), with a characterful grain and natural pores typical for this material. The interior features concentric turning grooves that remained visible after turning the stone – a detail that underscores the artisanal production process. The edges are thick and rounded, giving the objects a solid and sculptural appearance.
Color and variation
The set consists of two different color variants:
• One bowl in warm reddish-brown marble tones with natural veins and color variations.
• One bowl in light beige/creamy travertine with a more open, porous structure.
This variation in color and texture provides an attractive contrast when the bowls are presented together.
Dimensions (approx.)
• Diameter (red) approx. 20 cm
• Diameter (beige) approx. 15 cm
• Height: approx. 3 cm
• Weight: substantial due to the solid stone
White bowl has a registration sticker on the bottom
The red one no longer does.
Condition
In good vintage condition with light signs of use appropriate to age and material. Small natural pits and structural variations are inherent to natural stone and contribute to the authentic character.
Origin / design
Fratelli Mannelli is known for its Italian stone-working and decorative objects made from natural stone, often produced in the latter half of the 20th century. Their pieces are appreciated within mid-century, modernist, and brutalist interior styles.
Use
Suitable as:
• decorative bowl
• paperweight or object on a table
• bowl for fruit, keys, or jewelry
• sculptural interior object
Summary
A characterful set of Italian natural stone bowls with a strong material feel and artisanal finish – ideal for design object enthusiasts, natural stone lovers, and timeless interior pieces
