Terrestrial Globe by Ludwig Julius Heymann, Berlin, ca 1885

"ERDGLOBUS", the version made in Berlin is the oldest of Heymann's production, the globe is composed of 12 lithographed and coloured paper segments on papier-mache, brass and turned wood base, complete with working compass, the glass is clear and there is no fog.
The globe is ancient but well preserved, the patina is beautiful and shows signs of aging, the cartography is readable, the state of preservation is excellent. Every part is original.
Heymann globes are highly prized by collectors and feature very detailed and high quality cartography.
