Description from the seller
CAMBODIA. 20 Sen. 1959.
- Value: 20 Sen.
- Year: 1959.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: ceremonial altar with rays and an inscription in Khmer around. Reverse: “ROYAUME DU CAMBODGE · 20 SEN · 1959” with the value in Khmer at the center surrounded by a vegetal crown.
- Grading: MS67 (NGC).
Aluminum coin of 20 Sen with a detailed and symbolic design, where the obverse features a ceremonial altar from which rays emanate, evoking religious and traditional elements of the country, surrounded by an inscription in ornamental Khmer script. The reverse combines colonial and local influences, with a French legend and the value in Khmer framed by a finely executed laurel crown. The specimen is in exceptional condition, with very intense original luster, nearly flawless fields, and sharply defined reliefs, typical of a very high grade. Issued during the Kingdom of Cambodia under Norodom Sihanouk, it reflects a phase of national identity and cultural heritage in mid-20th-century Southeast Asia.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to make absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (e.g., Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes.
