Ex voto - Wood - 1850-1900 - Grace received

Ex voto or grace received from the late 19th century and oil on panel. It is (see subject) an offering made to the Madonna for intercession saving the life of the crew from a violent storm at sea. A typical object of Italian popular religious devotion, where often and willingly the faithful, after a supposed miracle, commissioned local painters to create this type of works, narrating the gesture or the supposed miracle. The painting measures 44 x 29 x 1 cm. Due to current regulations it cannot be shipped outside the European Union.
