Description from the seller

Six Crystal White Wine Glasses Set from Val Saint Lambert, model “Yale,” produced in the second half of the 20th century and reintroduced in the manufacture’s catalogs around the 1960s–1970s. This model sits within a production that is both functional and elegant, characteristic of the post-war revival of Belgian crystal, where the purity of lines and the quality of the crystal take precedence over excessive ornamentation. The “Yale” service is among the tableware ensembles widely distributed at the time, offered in different sizes and uses (water, wine, port), testifying to its success and its formal coherence.

Each glass features a slightly tulip-shaped bowl, resting on a short stem structured by a central faceted knot, which subtly catches and diffracts the light. The foot adopts a multi-lobed, almost star-like shape, giving the whole a stable base and a distinctive visual signature. The stem, deliberately restrained, highlights the crystal’s clearness, while the work concentrates on the base, where facets and sculpted volumes alternate in a spirit that is both geometric and decorative. The balance between the sobriety of the chalice and the richness of the foot perfectly reflects the model’s aesthetic, conceived for daily use with elegant simplicity without renouncing Val Saint Lambert’s distinctive visual identity.

The set is in excellent condition. The six glasses retain beautiful transparency and intact brilliance. Only one to two fine signs of wear are noted at certain feet, discreet and without impact. One of the glasses shows a slight loss at the rim, previously polished, whose finish suggests a contemporary manufacturing intervention rather than post-production damage. This element is very barely perceptible and does not disturb the harmony of the service.

Founded in 1826 at Seraing, the Val Saint Lambert crystal works established itself as one of Europe’s great crystal names, renowned for the quality of its production and its international reach. In the 1960s, the manufactory adapted its formal language to modern interiors by favoring cleaner lines and standardized high-quality models, often made in molded or semi-cut crystal. The Yale model fully fits into this evolution, combining functionality, robustness, and discreet elegance, in keeping with the technical know-how that makes Val Saint Lambert’s reputation.

Average dimensions are:
- Height: 12.2 centimeters,
- Upper diameter: 8.5 centimeters,
- Base diameter: 6.8 centimeters,
- Total weight of the set: 1200 grams.

Each of the six glasses will be carefully packaged, and the set will be shipped promptly in secure packaging. In-person viewing and combined delivery are available. Photos are part of the description.
