Silver dirham (2.04 g, 20 mm) from the Walila Mint during Idris II’s reign (816–817 AD / 201 H.), Idrisids North Africa; good very fine with original silver patina.

Islam - Idrisids (North Africa). Idrís II o Idrīs ben Idrīs ben Abd-Allah ben al-Hassan (174-212 A.H. / 791-828 A.D.)
Silver dirham (2,04 g. 20 mm.). Sebu mint, 201 H. (816-817 A.D.)
The Idrisids were descended from the family of ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib, the son-in-law of Muhammad and the first Imam of the Shīʿa Muslims, hence the name ʿAlī is written on both the obverse and reverse of this coin.
