Description from the seller
The essence of matter: a sculptural session that fuses anthropological tradition with brutalist rigor.
This birthing chair represents a fascinating meeting between the history of rural traditions and the power of material design from the twentieth century. Made from solid wood of generous thickness, the chair stands out with a stark tripod silhouette and an ergonomic backrest featuring a “live-edge” finish that highlights the wild nature of the wood.
The piece’s authenticity is underscored by an honest, functional construction choice: the backrest is mounted with period-style bolts and screws, elements that not only ensure granite-like stability but also give the object that industrial-brutalist flavor that is so sought after in contemporary interior design. The finish, deliberately raw and rich in texture, allows every chisel mark and every grain to be read, making this seat a unique piece, capable of asserting itself as a sculptural element in a modern loft or in a collection of rare objects.
A characterful item, where exposed hardware becomes an aesthetic detail and the ancestral form transforms into modern art.
The object will be packed and shipped with care. For added security, it will be disassembled and individually wrapped.
