Beautiful pair of hand-painted Makkum plates, executed in vibrant polychrome colors with a rich floral decoration around a central flower motif. The combination of deep cobalt blue, fresh green, and warm red tones creates a particularly decorative whole that immediately catches the eye.
These plates are produced in the tradition of Frisian pottery from Makkum, known for its artisanal quality and refined painting. The graceful flower basket in the center and the symmetrically constructed border decoration give the plates a classic, timeless appearance.

Condition:
In good and sound condition. On the back there are clear traces of the pegs (support studs) used during the firing process – an authentic feature that belongs to traditionally manufactured earthenware.
These plates are extremely suitable as wall decor, but also look wonderful in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of Dutch pottery.
